Meet The Freakes: An Introduction to The Arts Immersion Approach to Learning Across Disciplines
Limited Capacity filling up

Experience an introduction to in-depth study of a single work of art. Topics across disciplines intersect through the exploration of this work of art. As an example for this workshop, we will examine a well-known portrait of a mother and child from 17th century Boston. A study of one exemplary work will lead students down many avenues of exploration, with opportunities for interdisciplinary and differential learning. A variety of concepts using a range of teaching modalities, including project-based learning, will be discussed. A work of art in any medium (visual art, music, literature, etc.) can be employed for this Arts Immersion Approach.
All educators are welcome.

Breakout Edu
Limited Capacity filling up

Have you heard of the game "Escape Room"? During this session, you will participate in a game very similar to "Escape Room" called "Breakout Edu". Your task will be to reveal clues, riddles or challenges placed inside your classroom to unlock mysteries and win the game. During this session, you will also be shown how to create your own "Breakout Edu" games and how you can easily integrate those games or games other people have already created into your curriculum. These games foster collaboration and team building. They can be played in small or large groups from the ages of kindergarten students to adults. Come join us and see if you can "BREAKOUT!" For more information, you can check out the BreakoutEdu website.
