In this interactive, hands-on session, you will come away knowing how to search, save, share and effectively use digital resources found in PBS LearningMedia, a free service from WGBH and PBS. In this workshop we will see how the 1:1 initiative was implemented in the Freshman Science classroom. We will focus on the creation and use of hyperdocs as a way to engage students in active learning and investigate other digital resources that can be used. Integration with Google Classroom will be demonstrated. The use of tools such as Padlet (to share projects and collaborate), Quizlet (for students to create study sets) and Pear Deck (interactive Powerpoint) will be examined. A demonstration of Goobric (for online rubric grading) will be done. The goal of this workshop is to give participants a view of what is possible in the paperless classroom and how you can take advantage of some available digital tools. This workshop is not restricted to science and can be applied to other disciplines. Workshop is targeted for teachers whose students have access to 1:1 Chromebooks.
