To ensure the preservation and accessibility of the records of government. To provide assistance to government agencies. To provide leadership to ensure the preservation and accessibility of Massachusetts's historical heritage. To develop an appreciation of the value of historical records. The Massachusetts Archives serves the Commonwealth and its citizens by preserving and making accessible the records documenting government action and by assisting government agencies in managing their permanent records. The Archives provides leadership in preserving historical records and ensuring that those records are known and valued by citizens, students, and scholars.
Mass Archives Mass Archives has many rich resources and opportunities for educators, including a digital gateway to the Boston Massacre. The museum features both permanent exhibits and traveling exhibits as well as web exhibits. On March 10th, there is an opportunity to participate in a 90 minute tour and view a variety of primary source and curriculum materials. The end of the day will culminate with an opportunity to talk with Dr. Stephen Kenney, the Education Director.
